The Abdulaziz Al Saud Al Babtain Cultural Foundation participated in the World Poetry Academy’s Celebration of World Poetry Day, entitled, “Poetry as World DNA: Indentity and Traditions in the contemporary world”, which was held on Saturday March 18, in Verona, Italy.
The Foundation, as a partner in organizing the celebration, invited a number of Arab poets to participate in the poetry reading evenings, which are: Mishaal Al-Zuabi from Kuwait, Mohamed Ibrahim Yaqoub from Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Saqli and Sabah Eddebbi from Morocco and Abdellatif Saadi from Iraq. The ceremony was attended by the Foundation General Director Dr Touhami Abdouli on behalf of the President of the Foundation, poet Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain, who was previously selected Emeritus President of the World Poetry Academy.
This Celebration holds a particular importance in the dialogue among different cultures and witnessed the participation of poets, eminent specialists and artists from 5 continents. The Academy celebrated this year the “Tanka”, a special Japanese poetry, where poets from different countries contributed with their poems written in Tanka style.
