The poet Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain opened, on Tuesday March 14, 2017, the new public library of Kuwait Society of Engineers. The library, overseen by the Society cultural club “Intellectual Corners”, is considered as an important cultural contribution from the Society to its members from Kuwaiti engineers and the community as a whole.
The opening ceremony was attended by the president of the Engineers Society Faisal Alattl, Suad Al-Kandari, head of “Intellectual Corners Club” and the Society members.
Poet Abdulaziz Al-babtain described the re-opening of the Kuwait Society of Engineers library as an important step toward culture and the dissemination of community awareness, expressing his hopes to be an encouraging step to all societies and unions in Kuwait.
“Poetry and culture are not only for poets or writers, it is God’s gift to all humans,” Al-Babtain said in his word at the opening ceremony, adding that civilizations which brought architecture together with culture are immortal. “With this library the Kuwait Engineers Society contributed in building culture,” Al-Babtain noted.
For his part, the president of the Engineers Society Faisal Alattl, emphasized the engineers keenness on coinciding construction and building with the dissemination of cultural awareness in the community, noting how the “Intellectual Corners Club” head and members were insisting to re-open the Society library what made the board members allocate a space despite the lack of available spaces. “We believe this library will be a real addition to the engineers and the public, especially with the e-references in addition to various books in several fields,” Al-Attl said.
Suad Al-Kandari, head of “Intellectual Corners Club”, noted that the library has 1400 books in different fields not only in Architecture or engineering in addition to e-library service.
