His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah patronizes the tenth edition of the Spring of Arabic Poetry Festival, held by Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation on March 26-27, 2017.
The Chairman of the Foundation, poet Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Prime Minister, his care of the cultural movement and HH patronage of previous sessions of Spring Poetry Festival. “His Highness auspices were a great moral support which reflects the awareness of the political leadership of how important culture is in developing communities,” Al-Babtain said in a press statement.
He declared that the Festival will be held on March 26 for three days, and will celebrate the two poets: Yaqoub Abdulazeez Al-Rasheed (Kuwait) and Mustafa Wahbi Al-Tal, better known as Arar (Jordan). The festival will take place at the theatre of Al-Babtain Central Library for Arabic Poetry.
This year’s session includes two seminars to review the poetry and life history of the celebrated poets, Al-Babtain noted, adding that poets with different poetic experiences and from various generations will participate in the two poetry reading nights of the festival as the Foundation was keen to choose poets from different generations in order to present a complete poetic experience during these two nights.
Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation launched the Spring of Arabic Poetry Festival 10 years ago to coincide with the celebrations of World Poetry Day, adopted by the UNESCO.
