Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation is currently preparing for the 10th session of the Spring of Arabic Poetry Festival that will be held next March and celebrate the two poets: Yaqoub Abdulazeez Al-Rasheed (Kuwait) and Mustafa Wahbi Al-Tal, better known as Arar (Jordan).
“The tenth session will be held at the theatre of Al-Babtain Central Library for Arabic Poetry, on March 26 for three days, where poetry reading evenings will be convened along with two seminars dedicated to the celebrated poets,” the Secretary General of the Foundation, Abdulrahman Khalid Al-Babtain said in a press release. He added that the participants of the poetry readings and the seminars will be revealed soon.
The Secretary-General declared also that the President of the Foundation, poet Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain invited a large number of poets, critics and journalists from across the Arab world to attend this session as the festival has completed 10 years. Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation launched the Spring of Arabic Poetry Festival 10 years ago to coincide with the celebrations of World Poetry Day, adopted by the UNESCO to recognize the unique ability of poetry to capture the creative spirit of the human mind.
Abdulrahman K. Al-Babtain noted that the Foundation was keen to select poets with different poetic experiences, and from various generations. He also emphasized the importance of the two celebrated poets; Yaqoub Al-Rasheed (Kuwait) and Mustafa Al-Tal, better known as Arar, from Jordan, as they belong to the generation which was devoted to poetry. “The Foundation will hold two seminars to review their poetry and life history,” Al-Babtain added.
