The Chairman of Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation, poet Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain received the Ambassador of the Republic of Burkina Faso to Kuwait, Abu Bakr Koty where they discussed means of joint cultural cooperation. They also brought up the possibility of an institute for Arabic language, as the Burkinabe government and people are interested in learning the Arabic language. The institute will serve also the neighboring countries including Niger, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Cote d'Ivoire and Mali. Ambassador Coty affirmed that Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation, as it has always promoted the Arabic language all over the world, is the best cultural institution to establish this educational edifice.
For his part, poet Abdulaziz Al-Babtain agreed in principle on the idea of founding an Institute for Arabic language with a condition of teaching the Arabic Language in all schools of Burkina Faso and in all grades under the supervision of the Burkinabe Ministry of Education. He also offered 20 annually scholarships for students of Burkina Faso in different majors to study at Al-Azhar University in Egypt within the Saud Al-Babtain Kuwaiti Scholarship for Postgraduate Studies which was founded in 1974 and awards scholarships for students from around the world to study at the University of Al-Azhar.
The meeting was attended by the General Director of the Foundation Dr Touhami Abdouli and was held at Al-Babtain Central Library for Arabic Poetry.
Following the meeting, the Burkinabe Ambassador praised the efforts of poet Abdulaziz Al-Babtain and his Foundation in promoting the Arabic language. “Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Foundation is a trust worthy institution. It is totally dedicated to scientific and educational aspects,” he said in a statement to Al-Babtain cultural channel.
